Exporting tools and training
The UK Government can help your business with exporting to new markets. This includes helping you to create your own export plan and identifying high potential markets for your products.
You can get access to free online lessons on selling internationally, and search and apply for live export opportunities. There are also tools for exploring e-commerce options and support for selling online internationally.
Export Support Service
The Export Support Service provides a single point of contact for businesses exporting to Europe. It also provides crucial information to businesses regarding trading with Russia and Ukraine since Russia’s invasion. The service will be expanding to cover more global markets.
You can ask any question for your business, including on:
- exporting to new markets
- paperwork you need to sell your goods abroad
- rules for a specific country where you want to sell services
UK Export Academy
If you’re new to exporting you should sign-up to the UK Export Academy. This a free, comprehensive training offer for UK businesses featuring masterclasses, events, mentoring and roundtables.
UK Tradeshow Programme
Businesses exporting, or thinking of exporting from the UK can attend the UK Tradeshow Programme. This includes a selection of supported overseas tradeshows and conferences, as well as grants to help offset some costs.
Attending overseas tradeshows can help you to develop market knowledge and make new contacts. It will also give you access to advice and support from trade experts on how to maximise your presence. Furthermore, the UK Tradeshow Programme provides all successful applicants with training. This will cover tradeshows in general and also for the specific event that you applied for.
In-market support
Your business may be eligible for tailored support from trade experts around the world in specific markets.
You can also report trade barriers affecting your exports or imports from the UK.
Export Finance
UK Export Finance (UKEF) can help UK companies to win export contracts by providing attractive financing terms to their buyers. It can also enable a business to fulfil contracts by supporting working capital loans, or support the business by insuring against buyer default.
Export finance can support exports for any size of company and across all sectors, from capital goods to services and intangibles such as intellectual property.
