On Wednesday 8 August, Lord Duncan – Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland – visited Perth.
Lord Duncan visits Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance
The day started off with a visit to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA), which is funded by charitable donations. Lord Duncan had the opportunity to meet the crew, see the aircraft and learn how the SCAA’s work fits in to the vital emergency response network Scotland.
Lord Duncan visits Tillyrie Farm
The Minister then visited Tillyrie Farm. He toured the farm, had the opportunity to see lambs being drawn and the farm’s sustainable management of flock. He also discussed the ‘farm to fork’ process and quality assurance.
Lord Duncan visits Hunters of Kinross
In the afternoon, Lord Duncan visited Hunters of Kinross to hear about the ‘Heart of the Community’ initiative which aims to place a defibrillator at every butcher’s shop across Scotland.
Lord Duncan visits Unorthodox Roasters
He went on to continue discussions at the local coffee shop, Unorthodox Roasters, a Scotland based coffee roastery which roasts coffee to a lighter style using unconventional methods.
Lord Duncan visits Loch Leven and Castle
The day ended with a visit to Loch Leven and the Castle.
