Lord Bates, a minister from the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID), visited Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral Primary School in Motherwell to celebrate the success of SCIAF’s ‘Wee box big change’ appeal.
SCIAF’s appeal raised £3,198,056 to fund their life-changing work with people devastated by hunger, poverty, war and natural disasters in some of the poorest countries in the world.
During his visit, Lord Bates met SCIAF staff to learn more about the charity’s work with poor families all around the world and particularly in Cambodia, which featured prominently in this year’s appeal.
He also visited Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral Primary School in Motherwell who raised over £1,000 for this year’s appeal, and who have been supporting SCIAF for 26 years – raising £35,500 in total.
