The UK and Scottish Governments will together invest £350 million in the Tay Cities. The money is being used to attract more businesses, good quality jobs, specialist skills and visitors to the region. This will deliver a boost to local economies and improve public services.
Through the Tay Cities Deal, the UK Government is working together with the Scottish Government, Dundee City Council, Perth and Kinross Council, Angus Council, Fife Council, partners and the private sector to make the Tay Cities even better places to live, work, visit and invest. The Heads of Terms agreement was signed by partners on the 22nd of November 2018.
Households and businesses in the region will enjoy faster internet speeds. There will be an International Aviation Centre – the first of its kind in Scotland, as well as an International Barley Hub to help maximise the social, environmental and economic benefits of the crop.
City Region Deals are agreements between the UK Government, Scottish Government, local authorities and other partners to invest in cities and regions.
