Through the Edinburgh and South East City Region Deal, the UK Government is working together with the Scottish Government, Edinburgh City Council, East Lothian Council, West Lothian Council, Midlothian Council, Fife Council, Scottish Borders Council, partners and the private sector to make Edinburgh and South East Scotland even better places to live, work, visit and invest.
City Region Deals are agreements between the UK Government, Scottish Government, local authorities and other partners to invest in cities and regions.
The UK and Scottish Governments will each invest £300 million in Edinburgh and South East Scotland. The money is being used to attract more businesses, good quality jobs, specialist skills and visitors to the region. This will deliver a boost to local economies and improve public services.
